Data Safety
Once we obtain information that includes personally identifiable information ("PII"), we are considered responsible for its safe storage and handling ‐ even if that data is "public record" and readily available elsewhere.
That's why all databases, files, and servers are individually password protected, and even the entire hard drives of our computers are encrypted.
Any data, graphs, maps, etc. posted on this website have been aggregated and anonymized ‐ usually at the city‐, town‐, or school district‐, level to demonstrate trends and distributions in the data from a "high level."
PTA will not sell or otherwise share any customer's information in any way not pursuant to fulfillment of our duties without their knowledge and consent.
Why "New (or current) Homeowner"?
Sorry if it seems impersonal, but there is a reason we do this, even if it makes the marketing a little less effective.
The property owner name is, indeed, listed in some of the publicly available records associated with this information, but one of the first things I do when performing my cleaning and transformation of the data is to strip this information away before it is ready for processing and analysis.
Why? Because you didn't give it to us.
It's a lot of responsibility to store this information, even if it is "publicly available" elsewhere.
We only collect and retain whatever data is necessary to do the job, and work to ensure that what we do retain is properly protected.
Get Me Off Your "List"
Let me say first, the best way off this "list" is to file a successful grievance ‐ we can try to do that for you, but if you'd rather do it yourself or hire someone else, that's fine too.
Please don't just ignore this situation; now is the time to correct this, and it won’t fix itself.
Use this form to opt out of future solicitations.
Due to overlaps between when a mailing is produced and when it is printed/mailed, you’ll need to allow 10 business days to ensure that no future mailings will be received.
Also, a change in ownership records would "reactivate" the property ‐ so, if you were to put the property in a trust or company name, and your assessment has not been corrected, you'd need to re‐request exclusion from the potential target list if you still desire.
Good luck.
IF,IF,IF…
If a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass when it jumped.
If my aunt had wheels, she'd be a trolley.
If the Queen had… Well, you get the idea.
The problem with forward‐looking statements is that they are based upon assumptions, and sometimes relying too heavily on them can make an ass out of you and "umption".
Please take any forward‐looking statements or predictive conclusions with an appropriate grain of salt. More than ever these days, it seems there is little guarantee that even the near future will closely resemble today…
